The Met Gala, also known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, is an annual black-tie event conducted to generate funds for the Costume Institute, the museum’s collection of fashion artifacts. It is held on the first Monday of May. Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, is the organizer of the event. Met Gala is based on different themes every year. The Met Gala 2023 theme is ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,’ which is ‘in honor of Karl,’ in memory of the iconic designer, who died in 2019 at the age of 85.
The invited Celebrities mostly wear custom outfits for the gala, usually created by the designer they are attending with. Their ensembles are based on the theme of the Gala.
When and Where to Watch Met Gala 2023
The star-studded event will be live-streamed today at 6:30 p.m. ET. on Vogue’s official website, YouTube channel, and Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. The live feed will also be available on Glamour’s website as well as on all of their YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook channels.
This year, the Met Gala event’s co-chairs will be Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Anna Wintour.
